We are a small family nursery specialising in unusual and reliably-performing plants for your garden. We have an excellent range of shrubs, including many which are difficult to propagate such as rhododendrons, azaleas, daphnes, magnolias and camellias.
Our background is that for 22 years we were solely involved in propagation of ‘difficult’ plants for the trade, and we were the largest supplier of rhododendron starter plants in the UK and the largest supplier of Daphne Jacqueline Postill in Europe. Much of the propagation was carried out in our tissue-culture laboratory.
Now we wish to bring these plants to you the public, providing high quality at affordable prices. As we are mostly mail-order and to reduce your carriage costs, we will be supplying the plants in slightly smaller pots - mostly 1 or 2 litre size. Many of the plants will flower first year, but some will need an extra season of growth. However they will establish better than larger plants and will grow away faster.
We are able to keep our prices very competitive and as we are classed as a farm we don't charge you any VAT, so enabling us to reduce prices by a further 20% compared with our competitors.
The great majority of our stock will be propagated by us from seed, cuttings or division.
We would love to meet you at one of the many plant fairs that we will be attending.
The road to our nursery is very narrow and not safe for traffic, therefore we regret that we can’t open our doors for visitors. However if you wish to collect your order, this is possible by prior arrangement on fridays.
